Kern Water Collaborative (KWC) attended the Self-Help Enterprises Back-to-School Event & Mobile Clinic in McFarland, to connect families who own private domestic wells with free nitrate testing.
For residents that rely on private domestic wells for their drinking water, KWC helps households outside of public water service boundaries on the Kern County Valley Floor understand their nitrate levels at no cost to residents. Through free nitrate well testing, KWC can determine if bottled water is needed. KWC provides bottled water delivery for free when nitrate levels are above the drinking water standard.
In preparation for a successful back-to-school season, our team answered questions, shared bilingual and educational materials, and gained great connections with the McFarland community.
KWC works to ensure access to safe and clean drinking water for communities with private domestic wells across our service area.
